A special note from Jamie and Julie Iverson

Last Saturday night, American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment Touring Star Jamie Iverson was involved in a hard wreck at Iowa Speedway. Thankfully, with his safety equipment and the Speedway’s SAFER barrier, he was able to walk away, but his car was not in the best shape.

Tim Olson, President of the ASA Midwest Tour, once talked about how this series is taking on a family type atmosphere. This past week Jamie along with his wife Julie witnessed first hand to what Tim was talking about. Below is a personal thank you note from Julie to the ASAMT community.

There are so many people that we need to thank after last weekends racing accident that I’m not really sure where to begin. The outpouring of support and concern has been overwhelming. We have received so many offers of assistance ranging from parts to cars that it reinforces the fact that even though we are all competitors, more importantly we are also friends that truly care about each other.

We are proud to be associated with such a fine group of people. Our pit crew has had a very busy week. Tearing the car down and on the road to Pathfinder by Monday evening and back home Tuesday night.

John, you really stepped up the plate on this one, Thank you so much! Even local drivers and crewmembers that haven’t been around in a few years came over to lend a hand.

Before we left the track last Saturday, Mark Kraus, Tim Olson, Dan Fredrickson and Russ Blakeley had all offered cars for Elko and another call coming from Matt Maynard after he heard about the wreck. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Some of the series sponsors have also been of great assistance in getting us back to the track. Special Thanks to Five Star Stock Car Bodies, Lane Automotive, Pathfinder Chassis, Competition Specialists, MFR Enterprises/Roltek, Randercar Racing and Butler Built Seats.

Thanks to Luke and the entire safety crew and medical staff at Iowa Speedway. Thanks to Pastor Scott who took me to and waited with me at the Infield Care Center.

The ASA Midwest Tour has been extremely supportive and helpful through this rough patch and we appreciate every thing you have done for us with. You guys are the best!

Without the help, support and encouragement from all of you, this would not have been possible. Jamie is looking forward to driving Russ’s car this weekend. Thanks again Russ for being such a great friend!!
